- Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Then, wash and dry the asparagus spears well, trim off the woody ends and arrange the spears on the lined baking sheet.1 pound asparagus
- Place all of the glaze ingredients into a mixing bowl and use a whisk to incorporate.1 tablespoon white miso, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 2 teaspoons rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon tamari
- Drizzle the olive oil over the asparagus spears, season with a little salt and pepper, and roast for 10 minutes if using thin spears, or 15 minutes for thicker spears.1 tablespoon olive oil, sea salt, freshly ground black pepper
- Place the asparagus on a serving platter, drizzle the maple miso glaze over the spears and enjoy!

Notes
Miso: White miso works well for a maple miso sauce due to its mild and slightly sweet flavor, but red miso also works fine and gives the sauce a stronger, more robust flavor. Check the packaging to make sure it is gluten free if that is a concern (some varieties of miso are made using barley.)
