This simple cilantro pesto recipe features garlic, walnuts and honey for a bright, tangy add-on to rice bowls, chicken and more. It makes about a half a cup; perfect for four servings for the week or to freeze.

If you've ever bought cilantro for a recipe and wondered what to do with the rest, this pesto recipe is a lovely way to put it to use. (It's my personal go-to.) Less waste and more flavor is a total win in my book. 🙂

I chose walnuts for a mellow balance to the cilantro and a twist on the traditional pine nuts. (Added bonus: they are easier to find and less expensive too.) I also added the juice of a whole lime for a massive pop of flavor. IMHO, cilantro & lime is one of those perfect culinary combos and should be taken advantage of as often as possible. But I digress. Lastly, some fresh garlic added to the mix gives it that extra zing.
