This peach smoothie recipe with yogurt features only fruit and no extra added sugar; a win-win for whenever you're craving a refreshing, nutritious snack. 🙂
Blending up fruits, yogurt and other super foods into a smoothie is one of my all time favorite things to do in the kitchen. It's super fun, and also delicious!
This banana peach smoothie also features frozen pineapple for a little extra icy sweetness, plus a pinch of ground cinnamon which really makes the flavors pop. And thanks to the creaminess of the yogurt, it's like a perfect peaches and cream smoothie.
For other smoothie favorites you can try this strawberry banana smoothie with protein, this mixed berry smoothie, this blueberry kefir smoothie or this incredibly tasty green smoothie.
🌿 Ingredients
Just a few ingredients are required for this smoothie, in addition to some water and ice. If you don't have frozen pineapple, you can also use frozen mango or strawberries.
See recipe card below for exact quantities.
📝 Instructions
To make this peach smoothie, simple place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, about a minute. For best results, add the frozen peaches and pineapple to the blender last.
Pro tip: A professional-grade blender will create the smoothest smoothies, but a standard blender will also work just fine (it may just need a little bit of extra blend time.)
As written, this recipe will make two large smoothies or four kids smoothies.
📋 Substitutions
Here are a few substitutions you can use for this smoothie recipe:
- Yogurt - use any kind of vanilla yogurt (regular, Greek or Skyr), or use a plant based vanilla yogurt instead of dairy to make vegan
- Banana - if you don't have any ripe bananas on hand just use a little extra yogurt, peaches and pineapple, and add a teaspoon or more of honey for sweetness, if needed
- Pineapple - see smoothie variations below for pineapple substitutions
📖 Variations
This banana peach smoothie base works really well with a variety of other fruit variations. Here are a few you can try:
- Strawberry peach smoothie - use frozen strawberries instead of pineapple
- Mango peach smoothie - use frozen mango instead of pineapple
- Peach smoothies without yogurt - substitute milk, plant based milk or apple juice for the yogurt; add half a ripe avocado to make extra creamy or protein powder to make up the extra protein
🔪 Equipment
Here is the equipment you'll need to make this smoothie:
- professional-grade blender or standard blender
🍱 Storage
This smoothie will stay fresh in a covered glass or pitcher for up to 24 hours in the fridge, but is best when consumed immediately. It does not stand up well to freezing.
🎉 Top tip
This smoothie recipe is extremely versatile and hard to mess up! If you don't have all of the required ingredients on hand, feel free to get creative with other fruit combinations such as peaches with mango, strawberries or blueberries. And if things aren't sweet enough, you can always add a touch of honey.
Enjoy!
The three basic ingredients you'll need to make a peach smoothie are frozen peaches, a banana and vanilla yogurt. Optionally, you can add frozen pineapple chunks and ground cinnamon to enhance the flavor of the peaches.
Yes; you can use canned peaches for a peach smoothie. For best results, use unsweetened peaches, drain their syrup, and freeze them in a freezer-safe container before making your smoothie.
If you like your smoothies extra cold and icy, it's highly recommended to add ice along with the other ingredients. Or, chunk and freeze the banana for a couple hours or overnight before you make your smoothie.
You can add more frozen pineapples, some apple juice or a little raw honey or agave syrup to make your peach smoothie sweeter in taste.
