If you haven't tried it before, whipped Greek yogurt is a soft, fluffy, almost mousse-like treat that tastes downright luxurious. This single serve recipe is perfect for breakfast or dessert, especially when it's topped with fresh berries or granola.

"I used non fat Greek yogurt because that was what I had, and it was still delicious! We used this as a "cheesecake" filling. I made little crusts in mason jars with my favorite crust recipe and put them in the fridge. We took them out as needed, and added the whipped greek yogurt and topped it with a berry coulis I made. It was a big hit with the family! Thank you for the recipe."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Christina, One Happy Dish reader

I originally developed this Greek yogurt whipped cream to top my apple crisp with, and I couldn't have asked for a better result. The yogurt and whipped cream combo has just the right amount of sweetness as well as a slight tanginess from the yogurt. It's truly the perfect match for a breakfast or dessert treat!

🌿 Ingredients

Ingredients for whipped Greek yogurt arranged on parchment paper.

Only four ingredients are required for this recipe. Look for plain whole milk Greek yogurt or low fat Greek yogurt if you can; both work better than fat free.

Not a big heavy cream fan or don't have any on hand? You can also make whipped yogurt without cream. Just replace the heavy cream with the same amount of additional Greek yogurt and add an extra minute or two of mixing time. The end result won't hold its shape as well as with heavy cream, but it will still be delicious.

See recipe card below for exact quantities.

🎉 Top tip

My #1 tip for this recipe is: make sure to chill your bowl and mixer attachments before blending. I just put them in the freezer for a few minutes and it works like a charm. This really makes all the difference since it helps keep the whipped yogurt more stable and airy.

Also, since all mixers are different, make sure to blend everything just until you see soft peaks form that hold their shape (don't over-mix.)

🥧 Serving suggestions

Whipped yogurt is absolutely delicious in a parfait with fresh fruit and granola, or as a substitute for any recipe that calls for whipped cream. (It's also amazing on small batch French toast!)
